When Lois reached out to me about the Women in Philanthropy for the Queensway Carleton Hospital it made perfect sense. I would be supporting a hospital that is in my community, I would be working closely with like-minded female leaders and most importantly I was going to be actively involved in how my donation made a difference to the people around me. Since that initial conversation with Lois, I am on the WIP Board, have helped fund much needed ventilators for the hospital during the Covid pandemic and most importantly consider a number of the WIP members both professional colleagues and friends. The tax savings was secondary to all these other benefits.
